The story behind the photo: White Dome Geyser is in
the Lower Geyser Basin on a drive that takes the tourist past some of the
most active and interesting geysers in the Park. This geyser has
a large dome that has more orange on it than white. It erupts very
frequently, erupting about every half hour to heights of about 30 feet.
We took this shot low from the ground and managed to capture a whole lot
of sky. Usually, that bothers us, but in ths case, it was perfect.
The deep blue background with rolling cumulus clouds made a spectacular
shot.
