Here I am at Mammoth Hot Springs in May 2005 (I'm not terribly photogenic)
I was born on 10/10/73 in Bowling
Green, OH, the son of James Stewart Macdonald Sr. and Evangeline Karris (now Gray). I am the eldest of five siblings (Janis, Gloria, Alex, and Joe). The day I was born is more known for the resignation of Vice President Spiro Agnew.
I also love Yellowstone
National Park. Check
out some old pictures from Yellowstone. An album from 2005 can be found here, which includes a major eruption of Steamboat Geyser. Some of the many pictures of Yellowstone and Grand Teton from the time I moved to Bozeman can be seen here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
I also have a B.A. in philosophy and history from Ohio Northern University and an M.A. in philosophy from the University of Toledo; I was all but dissertation in philosophy at Catholic University of America, but I dropped out when my first marriage fell apart and I decided to organize against the Iraq War with all of my spare time.
Since the end of 2003, I've been in love with Genevieve; we live together in Bozeman, Mont. with our son River Demetrius Macdonald born on 10/6/07.
My life partner Genevieve and my son River skiing on Fawn Pass in Yellowstone in 2010
I co-founded Buffalo Allies of Bozeman, and I volunteer as often as possible with Buffalo Field Campaign.
I love to write; you probably can find the most about my anarchism, my worldview, my activism by looking at a selection of my writings either or on my blog: Jim's Eclectic World.
I'll tell you more about myself when
I have the time (which seems to be almost never) :), but for starters read some of my Yellowstone autobiography, which covers a lot of 1993 and some of 1994. Obviously, a lot has happened since then, but at least it gives you a taste of some of the most important and formative summers of my life.
